All of us are influenced by early images we see. Since Leonardo da Vinci is still arguably the most famous dead artist ever, along with Picasso perhaps, for millions of people, his remains an early and lasting influence. He is the most copied artist of all time. In 2012 a previously lost painting of Leonardo found in Switzerland, was revealed to be of the young Mona Lisa. She is below. Below that is another painting, this time found in the Prado in Spain hidden behind another painting, and thought this to be mostly painted by an assistant of Leonardo. For some reason, this artist remains an inspiration. And not for Dan Brown reasons, but because of the descriptions of him in the writings of everyone from Vasari to Freud.
